Glucozor V2 is a major update for Glucozor. It was developped to help kids with diabetes. The player can take care of a young dinosaur and help him to keep his glucose levels within acceptable ranges by bringing him food and insulin.
They can also find quizzes, challenges, events, activities and a minigame based on this theme.
I created test protocols for the team and clients. Wrote hundreds of bug reports and sent them to our database (Mantis Bug Tracker). Then I worked on bug priorisation.
I improved the concept and made objectives more comprehensible for the players.
In the previous prototype, the player had to keep the glucose levels between 0 and 250 mg/dL, which wasn’t really realistic (those values would be lethal) and would make the player instantly if he hit one of those values, this version was a game balance nightmare.
In the final version, the player has to keep the levels between safe values (between 60 and 180 mg/dL) if those values get too low or too high for 5 seconds, the player loses. And it was really more satisfying when we tested it while being more comprehensive for the players.
I also worked on game balance and improved in-game controls to make them more responsive and give the game a more dynamic feeling.
